    Early Childhood Teacher - Community Based Service - Inner West Location

    Hamilton’s Education & Care are recruiting on behalf of a well-respected community based, not for profit long day care Centre with a philosophy that Centres on its community and a belief that building meaningful relationships is key to quality practice.

    This 56 place early years program based in Sydney’s Inner West has an opening for a passionate early childhood teacher with strong pedagogy and leadership qualities that values, builds and maintains strong relationships with the team, families, children and the wider community. With such an established collaborative team in place, this opportunity is open to experienced ECT’s or new graduates seeking to be part of professional team who will thrive and consolidate their learning within this team who foster collaboration and coaching.


    About the role

    We are seeking an early childhood teacher who understands that relationships are the basis of quality.  This role is a Permanent Fulltime position working 38 hours per week and requires you to oversee the day to day operations of the toddler group and be an active member of the leadership team. You will be working across a variety of shift times, working closely with your team. Supported by an experienced pedagogical leader with over 30yrs of Early Childhood sector experience, you will be responsible for the children in your group, contribution towards the leadership team and overall input into the services long term goals that centres on providing the best possible care for children and quality service in the community.

    To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following selection criteria:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with current NESA Teacher Accreditation  or Diploma Qualification in Early Childhood
    • Experience having managed a team at Director or 2IC level for a minimum of 2 years
    • Understanding and knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standard, and requirements of the current Child Protection Acts & the Education & Care Services National Law & Regulation
    • Excellent relationship building and communication skills
    • Critical thinking and reflective practice needs to form part of your day to day practice
    • A professional, warm, friendly and positive attitude

    About you

    To be a successful applicant it is essential you have: 

    • 3- or 4-year University/Tertiary degree in Early Childhood Education, that is recognised by ACECQA
    • Knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 as well as Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011
    • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check through the Office of the Children’s Guardian
    • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with families and educators
    • You will value, build, and maintain strong relationships with team members, parents, children and the wider community
    • Above all, you have a true passion for supporting; nurturing and caring for children and seeing them reach their potential.
