We are proud to work with this not for profit client and offer YOU the opportunity to join this larger organization in a COOK role in their 36 place service in Sydney’s Hills district.
The Cook position:
- 25 hours a week. This is spread out as 5 hours a day Monday through to Friday.
- Join a staff team that is enthusiastic and supportive of each other.
- There is the ongoing possibility that you can be asked to do additional paid hours if you have an early childhood qualification (ie Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood), to assist in the rooms with the children. This would be optional and you would be asked on each occasion regarding these additional hours
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following selection criteria:
Skills and Qualifications:
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willingness to obtain
- A current Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain
- A current child protection qualification or willing to obtain
- Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
- High organisational skills
- Passion for creating healthy children’s meals
- Prepare meals to meet the needs of children with special dietary requirements and allergies
Your key priorities will be to:
- Plan nutritionally balanced menu’s consisting of five-food groups over the course of the day for children aged 0-6years
- Preparation of meals, including but not limited to: morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack
- Periodically and seasonally review menu plans and ensure they adhere to Centre budgets
- Ensure complete familiarity with special dietary needs of children within the Centre
- Maintaining a clean kitchen space
Preferred
- Previous cook experience in a child care Centre
- Menu Planning Certificate
- Other relevant training in Commercial Cookery or in Early Childhood
- Certificate III or Diploma In Children Services
