    OSHC Assistant Director - Russel Lea

    We are recruiting on behalf of reputable NFP provider of Early and Middle Childhood programs who have a commitment to quality, supporting; and building capacity of its team. They operate 10 successful OSHC programs  and 3 early childhood programs in Sydney’s Inner and outer Western suburbs; and Hills district.

     

    The Role:

    An opening for an experienced Assistant Director with experience in leading teams, supporting programs and building strong relationships with families and the community; and has aspirations to eventually step up to a coordination role; is now available at their service located in Russell Lea. This is a permanent part-time role working 30hrs a week across split shifts. The program catering for up to 40 children per day operates between 7-9am and 3-6pm. Hours during vacation care periods will be conducted across a different programs within the organisation

    About the role

    Reporting to the Coordinator you will be provided with the autonomy, support and resources to succeed in the role with support from head office and the OSHC Area manager. Your key focus of your role will be around building strong relationships with the community, your team, children and families.

     

    About you:

    • You will be an engaging and effective leader, who will be positive, flexible and adaptable
    • Is accountable as the educational leader
    • Will provide a safe OSHC service for staff and children in an all-inclusive professional team environment
    • Have previous experience working in OSHC and leading and inspiring teams
    • Maintain children attendance and casual bookings schedules to ensure child safety and supervision
    • Will engage and network with other Centre coordinators in leadership meetings and workshops
    • You will occasionally need to step up in being the responsible person (RP) in charge, adhering to the Education and Care Services National Regulations under the Education and Care Services National Law, child protection regulations, centre policies, goals and philosophy of the services.

     

    Essential Criteria:

    • Minimum Qualification - Diploma or ECT qualifications, that is recognised by ACECQA
    • Working Knowledge  of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 as well as Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011
    • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check
    • Current First Aid and CPR Certification and Child Protection Training
    • Excellent verbal and written skills in communication with families and educators
    • Experience working in the sector, minimum 2-3 years
    • Experience in planning and implementing a quality educational curriculum
    • Knowledge of My Time Our Place Learning National Quality Framework and National Regulations
    • Vaccinations up to date
